Qualifying your visitors

Some companies become extremely focused on the number of visitors they get to their website, and although this can be an indication that your site is performing well, may not actually produce that much business for you. They may spend hours studying the statistics and wondering why they are getting so much traffic but not turning over much.

Qualifying your audience will possible reduce the number of visitors to your site but will mean the quality will improve – by qualify I mean people that are actually very interested in your business or products rather than landing on your site accidentally.

There are a number of ways of doing this depending on what marketing avenues you use. If you use Google Adwords, be sure to chose the correct keywords. Do not just go for broad phrases as this will be costly and also a large percentage of visitors will not interact or purchase through your site if it is not what they are really looking for.
